Training
CMNSSL provides all of the training services needed to enable client navies to exploit the full capabilities of their ships.
Professional training is provided by highly experienced specialists, many of whom are former Royal Navy instructors with long service in training international naval personnel.
Courses are also provided in technical colleges and naval dockyards and in the instructional facilities at the major equipment suppliers. Harbour and seagoing training is given on the completed ships and tactical training is arranged with designated national Naval Authorities agreed with the client navy.
Each training programme is individually designed to provide the precise level of training needed for the client and, in the case of new ships, co-ordinated to the ship construction programme. Separate course programmes are developed to meet the operational and maintenance requirements of the ship's crews and naval base maintenance personnel. Assistance can also be given in the areas of recruit selection and assessment, naval instructor training and management training and development.
CMNSSL training programmes are extremely broad based and can cover all aspects of naval ship repair and engineering training. As a result, these services can fully contribute to a partnership with the client navy to ensure the personnel elements of through-life support are fully met.
On-going training programmes can also be provided, either in Europe or in the client's country to include ship repair training as well as familiarisation training for the crews of any ship in the client's naval fleet.
